Hello Scotty!
my 2010 s550 (made in germany)
has a code 2065 component B11/4 (Coolant Temperature Sensor) Has A short circuit to ground.
it has 245K miles well manitained
Original engine\transmission
I was about to replace my brake booster
hose, (no biggy) I left my car in my local repair store, after he replaced it, I went ahead and start the engine the temperature gauge went high and the display says ENGINE IS HOT STOP!
He still insist he has nothing to do with it! And told me that the engine is in normal temperature range in the obd scanner, and told me to just start the car and fix it later, I called some of my friend who is an expert working in the dealership.. and said never drive the car with this issue cause the computer thinks the engine is hot and it will keep cutting the gas and it would damage the engine/catalytic converter... etc, I said what the heck I will leave it here.

What should I do? And what is the cause of the problem?a
Well one I would have never bought an S550. They have the biggest money pits. Is they age. I had a customer's mother who bought a new one for $110,000 and ended up selling it used for four grand. That'll tell you what piles of crap they are as they age. You're really going to have to have a good mechanic that knows Mercedes with the Mercedes scan tool to mess with that thing because they are so complicated and they have so many electronic problems as they age. Good luck though
Well said Scotty, Thank you.. I may sell it if the problem continued.. they are very complicated indeed!
