I need a used beater pickup for use on the my mom's rural homestead. We have had a 72' gmc for all my whole life for hauling, soil, lumber, trash to the landfill xcetera. It's been a good truck. the odometer says 79000, But I bet it has rolled over twice, definitely once. It still runs well enough to get to the dump and back. But it's only 3/4 ton 2wd. We need something with towing capacity and 4wd so she doesn't have to wait until spring to move the truck.
She has been paying the neighbor to plow for decades and has probably forked over enough to pay for a plow capable truck three times.
My question is; do you know if there is a model and vintage of pickup will hold up for another 4 decades like our 72' gmc has? Something 4wd with towing capacity?

sorry for the confusion, the odometer rolls over at 100,000- not 999,999. so over 200k miles maybe 300k
4 decades and a million or more miles?
These days, a Toyota is the only truck that stands a chance of that.
An older Ford or Tundra would be ideal for that.
Old GMs and Fords can do the job. If you can pay more, think about Tundra.
