Should I buy a BMW 325i.

I’m looking at trading my car for a 2006 BMW 325i. It’s comparable KBB values so that not so much what I’m worried about.

It has 180k miles, and I’ve never owned a car with that high mileage. It has been very well maintained and the guy has used premium gas. He said when he bought it, the previous owner had replaced just about everything, and it’s a pretty even combination of highway and city miles.

Currently, I have a 2010 v6 mustang that I haven’t had any issues with, so reliability is a big factor for me. I know oil changes and everyday repairs will be more expensive with the foreign car (I’m in USA), but just with the mileage and given knowledge, would you buy the vehicle? And what sort of other questions would you ask? Thank you in advance!!

Don’t even think about it. It is already endless money pit and you loose your shirt if you want to fix it.

Run away from that endless money pit if you value your time and money. 2006 is right in the middle of the no go zone of BMWs they fall apart.

If that BMW will be your primary vehicle, I would pass on it.  It will become an endless money pit if it hasn’t already.  Now if it’s a weekend vehicle or toy (as Scotty calls it) that might be different, but even then don’t pay too much for it.

Scotty would tell you to keep the mustang, that's no surprise. If you want to give the bmw a chance, at least test drive it AND get it checked out by a mechanic. If it was really driven properly and is in actual good shape (you shouldn't trust before seeing), what the hell it might last a while, but scotty warned many times to beware the repair costs when something breaks down. Like he said, you're not rich if you have a new bmw, you're rich if you have an old one.

Here Scotty says he 325i is pretty good, granted the one in the video is a 94'. If you don't spend much on it, it may not be a bad deal it would have to be $3000 or less and have it checked by a mechanic. If it checks out and is under $3k go for it!

Don't fall for it.  Keep the Mustang if you aren't having any problems with it.  Those repairs will come so fast with the BMW.
