 Hi everyone,

What year is the most reliable Jeep Wrangler? How much should I spend? This is my first car btw. I found a Jeep on offer up it is a 1999 Jeep the color is gold and it cost 3000 but their is a problem with the back suspension. How much would that be to fix or get replaced? And Also, what are the labor fees. In the description it says that “the check engine light is on because of the oxygen sensor.” I’ve been binge watching all of your videos for the past 6 to 7 months and the ones with Jeep Wranglers you were always like this is the worse car to buy..but I’ve wanted it for a long time but I don’t want to buy it if it isn’t a reliable car and if there are too many problems with the Jeep or if it is to hard to fix.

This car is not good for your 1st car.

@yaser
Why not? Is it harder to drive ?

Older Wranglers are great PROJECT cars, not daily drivers and they can have SERIOUS frame ROT! Stay away if ANY have suspension issues.

If you plan to use that Jeep off road, then you better plan on repairs.  Are you handy, do you want to learn to wrench on your new toy?   Plan on it.  Also, as my grandmother would tell me as I excitedly jumped into her '48 Willy's Overlander 4x4 (that was her town car...) as she pointed me to the back parts of the ranch... "remember, a four wheel drive is great for getting you far back in the mountains and also great for getting you stuck far back in the mountains..."

Oh... bring a towel when you go to look at used Jeeps... kneel down on it and look at the undercarriage...  look at the spring perches... are the straight?  are the bolts straight?  does it look like things have been hammered by rocks?  what do the rocker panels look like?  does the front bumper show dents (some owners think they're driving a bull dozer instead of a Jeep.  For me, that tells me a lot about the prior owner...   Oh, and there are some great 4x4's to be had in the old CJ5 line up... look for a good v6, they are bomb proof engines.

Travel with experienced, reliable, friends.  Blessings!
