Hi, I was wondering if a 2000 Chevy S10 Xtreme with the 2.2 liter Inline Four with the five speed manual transmission would be a good first car?

Yeah it will do great. Can beat on those 4 cylinders forever from that generation. The manual is the more reliable option as well. Make sure that the clutch isn't too worn out and it should last a long time.
