ignition coil not in order

A few days ago I changed plugs with a mechanic...

he put in the ignition coil not in the order he took it out.(Rather, he did not return them to their place...
For example, the ignition coil from cylinder A is returned to cylinder B, etc...)
Is this a problem?
In addition to the problem that I don't remember exactly what he returned to where...
If I'm not mistaken he changed between A and B

Not a problem.

Thanks, Because the ignition coils are separate?

Not a problem, part of what Scotty says about ignition coil-based misfires is changing ignition coils. If the misfire moves after you were to change coils, then the problem would be the coil. The actual firing system would be a problem, but most ignion systems can only move enough to attach to one coil.

Follow ALL the posting instructions please. The engine model will be helpful too. Thank you.

You can switch coils themselves because they're all identical. The car can't tell which one is which.

But the wires going into the coils have to remain with the correct cylinder to maintain proper firing order.
