Ok. I have a 2009 Kia Sedona. The first thing I worked on was the 2nd lighter outlet. I put a new fuse in and it blew. I replaced it again and it works. Not really sure how. But the stereo had problems that seemed directly related. The previous owner said don't use the lighter because it goes crazy. I never experienced that. I believed it was the stereo and that it drained the battery. Or something to do with the heater. There was issues with the heater.it went in to a shop 3 times and never really worked like it should. The only thing I notice is you have to hit the sweet spot for the fan to kick on. If you want low heat it's hard to find. So it was over heating because the fans were not coming on. Befor I owned it they replaced the relay and it didn't do anything. There was an argument that the relay wasn't Kia brand and that it will not work. I doubt this but who knows . I noticed the key will get hot also. Previously it wouldn't recognize the ke was removed. It would ding. I sprayed wd40 in and it helped. After that was when I noticed the key gets hot. Then it's been hotter and I can usually keep it from overheating by moving. As long as. I'm not sitting I normally don't over heat. One hot day I decided to hook up a switch. It was used and didn't work so I just ran a hot wire to the wire going into the fan. Now I just checked if it came on by touching the wires and it did so I just assumed that was the right hot wire. It was brown the other black. So it came on and I was like cool and I went and started the van and the fans shut off. That don't seem logical. They should be hot all the time. Well I guess not. So I ran it a few hot days but then the ignition acts like the key hasn't been removed. Makes it hard to lock up the van. After a while it will stop. But got to remember to shut the lights off or they stay on like they do until the key is removed. On ward now when I turn it off I leave the key in and it acts like the key isn't in the key hole. Helps me lock my keys in the car. But I am so confused. Oh and the stereo is a part time work thing. But I don't think it is related. See some kid decided to try and listen to a dime cd. I took the stereo out and heard it. Decided to give it power for a sec to remove the cd so I could get it out and I think the dime moved and fried something. I am wanting a new stereo but think to fix all the problems it might be one fix. The check engine light is forever on. I cant deq. Until its off. I can't afford much. So I'm also trying to keel it down. I also don't want to mess things up myself. But it seems that all my problems are related. Or am I just dumb enough to try and relate them. To me it sound like a grounding problem. But I got really confused when I hooked up the hot wire and idk. Some reverse polarities. Dyslexia don't help me I have troubles enough as it is. The tpms is always on. The only other thing I can think of that might be related. Maybe it'd separate but the gas light comes on all the time. I don't know how it hasn't burnt out. I'd love to find a way to keep it from coming on. Id appreciate your input on this. I think I am going to start with the ignition switch. I just know enough to get me into trouble. Hopefully I can fix it because I can't afford it not to run. Thank you.
Was this vehicle previously wrecked or flooded, to your knowledge?
Yes logically I would try the ignition switch and pray it's that simple
