Fix my 2014 Accord or buy a new CR-V?

Hello Scotty,

I have a 2014 Honda Accord with 168K miles on it. I bought it new from Round Rock Texas dealership.

Automatic transmission.

Earth dream 2.4 L

I've kept up with all the routine maintenance o it.

I just drove it round trip from Texas to North Colorado. It started making a "winding" sound on the way back ..sounded like tire road noise at first. Now I'm back in Texas and the sound and feel seems like it's the transmission.

I purchased transmission fluid from the dealership and had my mechanic change the transmission fluid about 5 months ago.

I plan to take it to the Honda dealership soon and have it checked out.

I'm moving to Colorado soon and thinking of going ahead and just buying that Honda CRV so I can take a small U-Hall up there...and I've always wanted a CRV for my retirement car anyway.

You talk a lot about "engines" "transmissions".

What best advice can you offer me in this situation?

Should I get my car checked out and pay for repairs?

Do you think a CRV is a god choice and do the CRV's have issues?

Thank you in advance,

Best,

Lorie

I am a fan and follow you. Love your youtube videos.

Was the transmission fluid changed for the first time, 5 months ago, with that high mileage? Or have you been changing it routinely every 40,000 - 50,000 miles?

Take the car to a transmission shop to get an expert opinion on your options/costs. If you decided to sell it without any repair, take the car to Carvana,.... for appraisal.

If you buy a brand new and take care of it, it can be a good car. Get a bigger engine (2.0 liter) for better reliability in the long run. You can also test drive RAV4 and see if you like that one or not.
