I have 2007 Pontiac Vibe. I thought I removed all of the ice around the windshield wipers, but I did not. The passenger side works fine, the driver's side moves about two to three inches. I removed the arms and the cowl to get to the wiper motor and transmission and to see if I broke a bushing. The assembly appears to be functioning normally. Did I break a bushing or take teeth off of a gear in the transmission? Or, could it be something I missed entirely? I also forgot to put witness marks on the posts to realign the wiper arms. Yay! Thank you.
The wiper arm might be loose.
I'll put the arm back on and tighten it down. I hope that works ( I really don't want to spend any more money than I have to). A garage told me $225 plus tax to buy and install a new tranny, so I decided to try and fix it myself.
