I have a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta with currently 140,000 miles That I purchased back in 2016 A couple of months later I had an accident that caused damage to front passenger fender, Ever since then when I cruise up to speed‘s past 50 mph I get vibrations in the steering wheel I have replaced both Shox as well as control arms and I have my alignment done many times and it never zeros out to perfect. I was told by a mechanic that it could be my sub frame. Is it worth fixing or would it be better to purchase a another car and would I run into this issue again if subframe was replaced.
You should’ve gotten rid of it soon after the accident before throwing parts at it, because more often than not, accident damage can almost never be fixed correctly on a monocoque chassis vehicle.
Don’t even bother with the subframe/apron as it’ll probably never be able to be repaired to factory spec.
Get rid of it while you still can & hope for the best with your next car.
Thank you! This was definitely true after researching which I totally understand.
