Hi Scotty,
I have been looking for a used convertible and have really got to like the 2011-2015 Infiniti G-37 convertible. They seems to run high at dealerships between 10k-23k under a 100,000 miles. I know you really love Lexus and the older Lexus SC430 convertible or other SC models. These are much older in the earlier 2000s. I have been driving a money pit since 1984 BMW 325e/1991 325ic and now for the last 12 years a 1994 325i convertible. You're right its crazy how much money they eat up on repairs and parts and I do most of the work myself. Getting up there in age and dont want to spent anymore time constantly fixing and spending $ on replacing everything since I got it.
Can you please give me some advice if either the Infinity G-37 hardtop convertible or Lexus SC430 or other SC models is something I should buy and if not what would you suggest. I live in Fla. and have had a convertible since 2005, so I would like to enjoy the top down with a feeling of being free. Do you have some feed back on these 2 model cars. I really like the looks of the G-37 with the 6 cylinder. My son had a 2005 G-35 and I did some work on it, so familiar with that engine and I like a quick attractive convertible car. I have watched a lot of your videos and cant remember if Nissan the manufacture of the Infinity is a reliable vehicle to buy used. I know you did have a show about the G-35s having problems after so many miles. I know they have head gasket issues if I remember correctly? Anyway please help me out here so I don't buy a money pit. Thank you so much for any hell. I really love your videos and think you're one hell of a mechanic.
Thank you
Don Uffinger
The Lexus SC430 and Infiniti G37 are in two different categories. But you can't go wrong with either of them. Just make sure the timing belt has been changed on the Lexus.
