Hey,

we have a 2019 mustang with approx 11.5k. I saw that ford switched/upgraded the coolant from orange to yellow. The factory recommended the initial coolant replacement at 6years/100k however I prefer to replace it sooner. Is it ok to replace/upgrade the coolant from orange to yellow at 11.5k/3years

Providing the coolant you're looking to switch to is compatible with your engine, you can do the swap anytime you want. I wouldn't go through the hassle of flushing. and changing coolant after only 3 years of service if the manual states 6 years. You're really just throwing your money out the window, antifreeze isn't all that cheap these days.

Why the first coolant change at 6years/100k miles then it will change to 3years/50k miles. Does the new car fluids come with any additives or special fluid?

Probably not, whatever is in Motorcraft antifreeze. I would assume it's because as an engine ages, it needs more frequent maintenance. Fluids get dirty quicker as a car ages.
