Interference engine

I want to do the timing belt replacement and water pump and cam and crank seals myself. Only because I cant find a mechanic that I trust. Anyone you could suggest in the Atascocita, Humble, Houston, Porter, Kingwood area or anyplace in that region would be great.

1999 Toyota Sienna Plate# CWN-3207 Engine family xtyxt03.0xbp

Vin# 4T3ZF13C8XU135363  109000 miles.

My concern is when removing the cam sprocket does the cam spring over if it moves too much when trying to get the bolt out and drop the valves on the cylinder head? Is that a real concern for a real mechanic? How do they prevent that?

I feel comfortable doing it myself except for the fact that I dont know what I dont know sometimes until its too late. I have the tools and enough mechanical experience to do it. Especially the second time when I know all the pitfalls.

Any advice you have is greatly appreciated. I hope you know someplace I can feel safe to take it.

Thanks,

Alan Sexton

West Lake Houston Automotive does good work and is close to you. I'd give them a shout.
