Hey scotty good evening I have a 2006 Chrysler 300 2.7 lit V6 with a 0301 code that keeps coming up and its driving me crazy I've changed the spark plugs, coils, they cleaned all the connectors on injectors and coils. I also have a rough idle at a stop light where it jumps to go but I only get it intermittently I'm about to change the crankshaft and oil pressure sending unit since the oil pressure sending unit has a slight leak and oil is all over the crank sensor(I've been driving this car for six months power and performance has been phenomenal so it puzzles me as to what's going on and I get great gas mileage)I've done long trips and gotten 27 to 29 mpg avg in mountains well over 800 miles a trip and he handled great
Thank you for your help
good morning my EGR port on the intake is busted which is causing a gaping leak I sealed it temporarily due to to the cost of a new or aftermarket intake since mine is discontinued I have to wait till next month I did a temporary fix courtesy of the orange apron home improvement store but I feel no leak so she's holding for now thanks all for the help I appreciate it
So many things can cause that from a bad fuel injector bad computer driver bad wiring intake leak on the manifold a blowing head gasket warrant piston rings Warren valve springs so many things you tried the basics you might want to pay a mechanic now to at least analyze it
@scottykilmer
Thanks scotty love your channel and one more question before i go would an air filter box not seating properly cause that as well
I would definitely take it in to get looked at. If you had the 3.5L V6 of that year, or even the 3.6L Pentastar or the 5.7L V8 HEMI I would be puzzled too. But you have the 2.7L which is known for blowing head gaskets among various other issues. It was really a poorly designed engine and that’s why it was never a good idea to buy a 2.7L in the first place. But now that you have it, I’d get it looked at as soon as possible and pray it’s not the head gaskets.
@ninjageek
I'm hoping its not I've seen no milky residue on my cap or in my oil and it acts up intermittently and I check my oil every Friday and just got an oil change and they saw nothing so I'm praying it's only a sensor going haywire but I do know the oil pressure unit is leaking and the crank sensor is full of oil from it and to my knowledge they've never been changed i found out after I bought it about the engine but i was proud to see the Carfax the car car was very well maintained so that eased my pain a little
so my P0301 came up again but this time only when the car is cold the car hesitates and jerks BUT one its up and running(hot) its fine no issues I was wondering if I should get my sensors and my intake cleaned the car has 135,000 miles and to my knowledge its never been done could use some advice here I had the plugs checked and there was no coolant on the plugs so I can rule out the head gasket
I haven't done a compression check but my engine isn't missing I do have a busted EGR outlet on the intake that I sealed with duct tape and the engine is running amazing coolant is good and I haven't lost any coolant in the year I've owned it and I'm not blowing any smoke out of the exhaust and there is no ticking sounds he's quiet
