I have a 06 crv 90k and a 15 promaster city 30K both will shake the steering sometimes when breaking from highway speed after a hour of driving. After a few times breaking it stops normally. I can drive for months at city speed with normal breaking. The promaster will do it mostly at high altitude when it's cold. The CRV tends to do it after driving a speed of 75mph. Both original OEM break pads.

Well odds are the rotors are slightly warped driving on that long and your break at a high speeds they'll shake also could be slightly worn wheel bearings which will do that too
