Hi Scotty! Love what you do!
I have a 2001 ram 2500 automatic transmission with the 8.0 V10 with 291,000 mi I bought this truck 6 months ago
As I'm driving the voltage gauge will drop to zero and sometimes if I pull over turn the truck off and then turn it back on everything will be fine until hey bump and then the voltage gauge will zero out
I had the battery and alternator checked they passed according to AutoZone's tester checked all of the engine compartments grounds everything is free of corrosion l. All grounds appear to be making connections
.
Computer problem? I really don't want to get rid of it I kind of like this truck
Thanks for your help sir Neal Mott Greeley Colorado
these electrical gremlins seem to be common on Dodge trucks. The gauge itself could be bad. I would just buy one of those gauges with a digital display that plugs into the cigar lighter. They are very inexpensive.
I did forget to mention that the battery finally ran out of juice. So it's to charging like it should
