I found a 1966 Plymouth fury project car for sale near me for $2500. It runs and drives but needs work. It has the original 6cyl motor and an automatic transmission. If it checks out mechanically would this be a good buy? Thanks.

It would be a fun weekend toy/project if it's basically sound and not rusted out. It's hard to kill that slant-6 and torqueflite but those cars were real rust buckets when exposed to salted winter roads. Usually on those the engine and trans would keep running while the rest of the car fell apart. Pay particular attention to the torsion bar anchors under the seat area. If those are rusted the car is junk.
