2.0L 4 cylinder 8 valves. They say it's interference but others say this is an non interference engine. Right now it has 180,000 miles and timing belt is still in good condition.

If that timing belt is original it is way past due for replacement, regardless of how it looks.
The timing belt was replaced at 115,000 miles. It's a Continental belt but still look new and tight as it should be.
VW recommends timing belt change every 75K miles on that model, so should be done again around 190K.
