Is 2010 Ford Focus worth fixing

Topic starter

2010 focus

188,000 km (116,000 miles)

just redid plugs and valve cover gasket (plug wells full of oil)

Now front end is rattley and found a leak on timing belt cover. About a quart down per oil change. Running rough probably need to do a few more items the usual.
but wife likes the car. Reckon it’s worth fixing? I was hoping to talk her into me trading it in for used Honda CR-V but she’s not down.
so why do I care? Gives me something to do I guess?
Any thoughts

I would repair it until it needs something really expensive done, like an engine or transmission work. Then ditch it for whatever you can get. They aren't worth a lot of money, so you may as well keep it rolling as long as you can.

I don’t think you will get that much money selling it, I would Keep driving it till the wheels fall off and do not spend serious money on that. If it needs a big money to repair, get rid of it.

You could keep driving it until it falls apart. Wouldn't put any big $$ repairs into to though, you get to the point of diminishing returns, there's a reason mechanics call focus' throw away cars.
