I'm looking at buying a 2006 f-150 with 166,000 miles. It has the 5.4 triton v8, automatic transmission, and 4 wheel drive. I've heard bad things about the 5.4, but the truck is in pretty good condition and doesn't burn oil. they're only asking $4500, is this a good buy?
No those can be good vehicles but always have a mechanic like me check it out before you buy trust no one selling a used vehicle
The Triton 5.4 V8 is probably the worst engine ever made by Ford.
DO NOT BUY THAT TRUCK.
i like Ford trucks, especially 4x4, but i see so many sitting around with grass growing up around them, would be scared to spend too much money on one
@clemsonrangers the mid 2000s was not a good time for Ford at all in my opinion. There are plenty of quality Ford trucks out there, just takes a little patience and knowing what year, model, motor and transmission to get.
