Is a 2009 3.6L chevrolet traverse good with 122k miles on it?
No. Cheaply made pile of junk it is.

The 2009-2011 Chevy Traverse got the "Beware of the Clunker" award by carcomplaints because of engine, engine, more engine, steering, even more steering, and finally lots of steering issues. I would run away from that car. Junky build quality in junky company cars, fits well with the horrible 3.6 V6. On average of 105k miles, the engine blows up costing on average $6500 to fix. Is this worth it? At low speeds the car won't steer. Transmission and electrical issues top the cake. You will be better off with an 07 Highlander any 4runner or similar years of the Honda Pilot. It probably is in horrendous shape anyways because they have endless problems and no one wants to put that money in to them.
"CARCOMPLAINTS.COM NOTES: There are a fair-number of power steering related complaints which is a continuation of problems from the previous model year. Considering the problem tends to happen beyond the standard warranty (73k+) it's best to avoid this vehicle or at least be prepared for the $1,300+ repair."
"Overall the worst problem category is Chevrolet Traverse engine problems..."
At 100k miles you are dealing with a $1500 steering defect and a $6500 engine rebuild. Is this worth it Bryan?
It’s probably on sale because it just started burning oil at 120,000 miles.
I’d rather get a used 4Runner or Pilot instead. Much better vehicles than the GM option you’re looking at.
As always, have the vehicle checked out by a reputed mechanic, before you buy it.
The 4runner would probably cost 3 times as much as the Chevy but be more than 3 times as reliable.
In my book, that’s a win.
yep! I summed up my thoughts of the traverse in my answer below. Enjoy!
Nope only good chevy products left are trucks with real allison trans. cars/suvs all trash...
consider a honda pilot / toyota highlander if you want long life and cheap maintenance
From my previous answer:

Yes, avoid the chevy suvs from these years and beyond.
those are just known problems, there still quality control, corruption etc
@jebrim
These are the common problems consumer experienced. The quality is not there you might mind the plastic stuff gone or the front bumper missing just by accelerating that is the quality level we are talking about here hahahah.
