Hello,
I am about to buy a 2012 corolla that is the complete base model without ac or power windows & manual transmission. I am in Canada and It is a Canadian model, so it came from the factory without ac, it's not because it has broken components. The reason why I'm interested in it is because it's only got 30k miles. I have already inspected it in person and found it to be in good condition, no corrosion, rust, or leaks and no panel gaps that I could see. Most of the fancier models of the same year have about 75-100k miles in my area and retail about the same price. Is this a good buy or should I get a fancier model with more mileage?
If you don't need AC up there in Canada and fine with the manual windows etc. then those cars are great. There is no need to get one with higher mileage to get features that you don't need.
You said you had it inspected so I'd go ahead and buy it assuming its the real mileage.
It doesn't have all the electronic junk because the person who bought was probably elderly and on a budget and didn't drive it that much because they were elderly. Sounds like a winner to me!
Can we even find a car like that these days? I'd jump on it.
I'd jump on it quick if the price is right. The fact it is base model means less electronics and other crap to tear up. If you have had it inspected and all and its a proven good vehicle with correct mileage, you should likely get many many years of good service out of it.
