Is a low mileage older Ford Transit Connect worth it?

Scotty,

I'm looking at a 2011 Ford Transit Connect with 29,800 miles that's on a used car dealer's lot.  They're asking $14,500 for it.  It would get light duty use from me, not as a fleet or heavy hauler.  I'm worried that I'd be buying a transmission problem in waiting.  Any guidance?

Thanks!

Is there any history on it? I can't help by wonder why is sat so much.

I don't have that information, but it's a great question.  I've been avoiding the dealership until I had a little more information.  I've heard too many horror stories about the transmissions so I wanted to learn more about that as well as any other input people might have.

Yes transmission seems to be the biggest complaint around 100k miles.

You could sell it before it gets that far, but you might be taking a big depreciation hit.
