Hey Scotty, my friend is looking to get a used 2019 Honda Civic Sport 1.5L Turbo Engine With 17,500 miles on. I’ve seen some of the common problems with this car are carbon build up on the spark plugs, build up in the direct fuel injection and oil seeping in to the gasoline (vise versa) in cold temperatures but the coldest it gets here in San Diego California is about 49 degrees at night and 60 during the day. He’s looking for something somewhat zippy and reliable and it seems this is a good choice knowing that Honda is a reliable manufacturer and watching your videos about them. If he likes it after a road test, should he go for it or keep looking?

Compared to most other makes with a turbo I’d go with the Honda Civic. Most car makes are going with turbo’s these days. So if you have to get a turbo engine, get the Civic. And you have a better chance of reliability with the Honda than most other make.

With that said, my ultimate preference would be the NA 2.0 engine for the Civic.

Honda has been making turbo charged engines for some time so I would say they're good. Also, they've fixed the oil dilution problem too.
