[Solved] is barrs head gasket sealer a long term fix?

I have a 2004 honda civic 115,000 miles.  I had a head gasket leak (steam out tail pipe, bubbles in radiator, misfiring).  I put in the barrs head gasket fix stuff scotty recommended.  It seems to have worked.  I have two questions:

1.  is this a long term fix?

2.  If this fails in future ( leak comes back), will having added the head gasket sealer be an issue to replacing the head gasket?  I would do this myself, but balked because it is more extensive repair than just pulling the head.

Thanks

It is most definitely not a long-term fix. It's a "keep an old goat going a few more miles" fix. Keep an eye on it. The sealer should not affect replacement of the gasket later on.

It's just organic ginger root (or was).  Chevy used to use it in new vehicles just as a "good idea" to help seal and seating.

Bars Leaks sealed the intake manifold seals on my 2002 venture and is still holding fourteen (14) years later.   I'm not touching it.   I'm convinced it's one hard overheat away from being a coolant fountain...  and it's not worth fixing properly.
