Why does my engine keep messing up?

‘14 Prius 2 Japan made , 264k. Bought w/ 220k two yrs ago. 8k miles later rattling engine noise. Changed ignition coils and spark plugs didn’t work.
Diagnosed as head gasket by el tapatio tires Gardena CA. Fixed/ ran 25k/ cylinder blew through block. New engine put in with supposed 5k miles/now no cold ac. 8k later gasket noise. P0300, P0302, P0304, P0441, P0455. Low coolant dealer said recently. I want to see if fixing head gasket is worth it again with a supposed newer engine that actually does feel newer when not misfiring. It’s a secondary delivery car. I doubt it’s the spark plugs and ignition coils since coolant is low. So far ditching mechanic mainly from a deep gut feeling unless I really need something.

No, I am guessing that the problem is they put in a used engine. They had a lot more miles than what they said. Junkyards always lie about the mileage in an engine and if this woman goes out too, I would assume you just got another high mileage engine that flat wore out. Those Prius Atkinson cycle engines have a certain lifespan and when they wear out, I haven't found anybody who knows how to rebuild the things so people just put in used engines. Of course it's always a gamble
