I know that if a cars trans fluid never been touched and is way overdue it might be best to leave it alone, but say you have a vehicle that’s had it’s maintenance and is reaching almost 300k miles, is it still safe to continue changing the transmission fluid? I have a 2004 Honda Pilot and on the transmission dipstick, the fluid doesn’t have a dirty black color, but more of a light brown. On the verge of changing the fluid but worried of ruining the transmission. I believe the last trans fluid was changed around 5 years ago

Not if you’ve been changing the fluid regularly -

When you change it again, be sure to use only the genuine Honda fluid, for your vehicle.
