My 2021 Camry SE gasoline came with ECO mode. Should I turn it on or off? Much of my drivin is in the city limit. Top speed is around 55 mph. And I drive like 30 mins a day. Gas consumption isnt a big deal since its a Camry after all. I just want the engine to last long.
In my experience, the Toyota ECO button doesn't really affect the mileage or stress on the engine or trans. But it makes the car "feel" different, with higher rev shift points, the trans downshifts more readily, the throttle responds a bit better. It's more important to put your right foot into ECO mode.
Hit the button and drive around for a week and see if the car gets a couple extra miles per gallon.
The Eco button just lowers power and shifts optimally for MPG. It will not hurt anything.
ECO is perfect for city driving, if you don't need a lot of power.
