What is making my Challenger clunk at low speed.

I have a 2010 Dodge Challenger just broke 100k miles/3.5L with the 42Rle transmission, its making a clunky sound when I drive it at slow speeds and it downshifts, only happens when its cold. Other than that the tans shifts relatively smoothly and the reverse works great. When im in traffic and im driving slow and its constantly downshifting it doesn’t do it, only when its cold in the morning or its been sitting for a while. What can it be ?

Do you feel that it should not downshift in those conditions? If so, ask a professional mechanic to check the transmission with an advanced scan tool to make sure it does not have any internal wear.
