Honestly if you just need an A to B car I could recommend the 2014-2016 Toyota Corolla

For something a bit sportier, 2017+ Honda Civic 2.0 would be my choice

I'm surprised it lasted that long.

What? That isn't normal at all. Usually it would blow up at 40k miles. You got a some decent life out of it, your lucky!

btw no joke here

Also never buy an FCA product ever again!

With Fiat 500’s you never know when the engine will go on you.  I am surprised it made it that far.  As for replacement, I’d look at a Toyota or Honda - which model depends on what you are looking.  Can you give us some requirements?

sportey gets good gas mileage practical

I’d look at a current Gen Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic (the Civic Si is a good one). Have you looked at those? It’s worth a look and better than the older generations in terms of driving dynamics (relatively speaking).

but, for fiat it’s normal

Sorry for your experience, but I've known a number of Fiat owners, and the only one who wasn't sorry was my friend John, whose Fiat was totaled by his girlfriend before it has 40k miles on it. All the others suffered major mechanical, electrical and/or rust problems, starting at 40-60 k miles.

Sadly, I'm not surprised. It is relatively normal for Fiat.
