Is it okay to mix gasoline? (Car requires regular octane 87)

Hey Scotty, I came across this question when I was watching your video regarding octane level for the gasoline. I now understand it's best to follow what the owners manual states. However, in this case is it okay to mix the gasoline? I wanted to ask this question, because my dad owns Honda pilot 2013 model and he's been fueling it with premium thinking it's better for the car. He had no problem and still runs like a clock. I will most likely get that car from him as my first car. As a broke college student I realized gas is quite expensive. So I wanted to make sure I can fuel with regular gas, which the owners manual states to fuel the car with 87 or above. Or do I have to continue using premium gas since it's been powered by it this whole time?

Thank you and have a wonderful day!

I don’t think there is one person on planet earth who doesn't mix gasoline.....

it's designed and built to run on 87 right?

@mountainmanjoe
Yeah they mentioned that the owner's manual states 87 octane or higher...so really there's no problem pumping in 87 octane.

Does not matter. You may get a tiny bit lower mpg.
