Pfft! You are fretting, … just wipe that "small valve cover leak" now and than and be done with it! If that’s the only problem, you own a perfect car!

Anyway, … questions: How do you like your car so far? Are there any other problems you are suspecting? Having? Is it still a right size car for you? If your responses are positive, … than, what’s a problem?

If you still like the car, but are not sure how much longer it will potentially last, just pretend you buying it again, … splurge a bit and get it throughly inspected by a trusty, independent mechanic. If verdict s/he comes up with is resoundingly positive, just keep it, take care of it. Drive it! You probably won’t get much for it by getting rid of it, … but you sure save a lot by not buying a replacement just yet.

Valve cover leaks are considered benign, and only a minor inconvenience. They don't affect the performance of the engine very much. They're also easy to fix so dive right in.

That Civic (especially if you have been on top of all the maintenance) still has some life still in it, and as the saying goes they don’t build modern cars like they used to.  I’ve had valve cover leaks on all my vehicles and had them fixed - not a big deal at all, and if you are mechanically inclined you can do yourself.  But even if you paid a mechanic (and especially on an I4 engine) it doesn’t cost all that much for them to replace it.  Keep the vehicle and just have it fixed.

omg...you're thinking about getting rid of the car over a valve cover leak....wtf? it's such an easy fix, but hey you want a new car, go for it. If replacing a car over valve cover leak is your criteria, you'll be changing cars very frequently.

that's an easy fix

Anything you would replace it with right now will be overpriced- new or used. If you can fix it and keep driving it, that’s the right thing to do

On that car a valve cover gasket is not a big job.

If nothing else is wrong with the vehicle  definitely not.
