I want to buy a 400 amp mechman alternator for my 2001 chevrolet tahoe LT will it run good and not fry my wiring they say it will give 14.8 volt and the amperage wich is needed

Well amperage is merely the ultimate power they can put out you're not necessary going to use it all the time. But Dad said you need s off wires to run that kind of power if you're going to use it so you got giant stereo system you would have to put in special wires for it all so it could take the power

As long as the voltage regulator is working properly, you shouldn't have any problems.
