I have a 1996 Nissan pickup truck, base model 2.4 l automatic and it has a hard time going into drive but reverse and neutral it doesn't hesitate to go into, but it hesitates to go into drive most of the time, but it actually always goes into gear just hesitates sometimes, it'll go right into gear sometimes, it'll take like 2 secs sometimes, it'll take 5 seconds sometimes, it'll take 30 secs and sometimes or I have to rev it just a hair for it to pop into drive, but as I say it never hasn't went into drive within like 30 secs but once it does go into drive it'll shift fine no jerks or yanks and shifts smooth no problem and shifts up and down just fine and very smooth, it just has a problem going into drive and sometimes I have to shift it manually from park to 1 to 2 to drive to overdrive then it shifts fine up and down and smooth after that but once I put it into reverse or park it'll have a hard time going back into drive could it just be a solenoid or a shifter cable or something small like that?
