Hello everyone. I am looking at a Ford Fusion for my first car. And I was wondering what model years are good and what model years to avoid. Or is every model year a piece of junk? I'd love to know what everyones input is.
They’re fine cars, just avoid the EcoBoost motors and get the naturally aspirated 4 cylinder or V6 engines. They’re not Camry or Accord good but they’re fine cars if maintained.

See below: also avoid the naturally aspirated 3.5L V6 as they have a water pump installed internal to the engine driven by a timing chain - if/when it leaks and mixes with oil it can worst-case damage the engine; even if caught in time it’s still a partial engine out to replace the water pump ($1,200-$2,000 job).

I used to drive a 2015 Fusion. It had 100k+ miles when I sold it. All parts were still original and working fine. I bet it could last another 100k with proper maintenance which should be done on any vehicle regardless of their reputation.
