Hi Scotty

What would you have to say about this Max Ac button which is present in many cars. The ac as it is blows cold enuf when its on the blue side completely, but would this Max ac option squeeze the compressor more?

Is it good for your car. I have had friends who have their Ac compressors blown out at 70k kms when they use the max ac option. Btw here in Kuwait,  the temp reaches 57 degrees C in summer which is why they do anything to get some cold air.

All "Max AC" does is to put the air conditioning system into recirculate mode and may also keep your temperature blend door on full cold output.

So it does not put additional strain on ths compressor??

No, in fact since the AC is in recirculation mode the compressor needs to work less to keep the interior cool.

I was wondering about this question above me. Thanks for answering @chucktobias

@chuck thanks for the advise.

The only difference with "Max A/C" is that it doesn't draw air from outside (via the cowl) like all the other settings. A door opens on the blower intake, and air is taken from inside the cabin. It's much easier to cool air that's already a bit cooler and drier than outside air.

The only downside I can see is that it may over-dry the air. You may feel your sinuses start to dry out. It's probably not good for you to run it for long periods of time. Get some fresh air once in a while, especially if you're driving at night (hypoxia is worse in the dark), or you start to feel light headed.

Thanks a lot !

I have always used the max-ac setting on my vehicles.

Personally speaking, I've never had an issue.

Thanks a lot for the advise.

I've always noticed that when you run Max AC, if you reduce the fan speed from maximum to just a little bit under it seems to blow a little colder. This is on different cars I have had,, not just my current. Is this a thing? Anyone notice this?

Will try that in summer.!!
