I'm not ever going to spend $70,000 on a vehicle. However, I came across the Ram 1500 TRX. It's base price is $70,000. Yes, it has a V8 Hemi engine. But, by the look, it looks just like any other truck. It's not like Mustangs or Camaro that stand out from the crowd. I don't think a regular person would see it on the road and think, "Oh, it's a $70,000 truck!" They would mostly be like "Oh, a truck. Okay."
I don’t think the Raptor or the TRX is worth 70k. Do they have a lot of tech in them? Yes. Does it hold up long term? 100% no. And the people who buy these trucks don’t use them for what they are built for. These trucks are doctors, lawyers, those kind of people’s commuter to and from work. It’s all about image. Go to a ranch or a blue collar job site and you will not see 1 raptor or TRX at all. Why? Because those trucks are not made for what a traditional pick up truck was created for. It’s all a waste of money in my opinion. Vehicles are built now for image bells and whistles and safety because that’s what Americans want. Americans really don’t care about true reliability otherwise they’d quit buying from these companies like GM, FCA, Ford or the many others that make nothing but garbage and charge these insane amounts for their vehicles.
It’s worth whatever people are willing to pay. But I agree - Ram should have made it more distinct from the other Ram models, especially if paying that much money (and more). Oh well, I am never going to recommend that truck.
Of course it isn't. They are making a killing on every one that they sell, just like Ford and the Raptor.
Hey Stellantis has to make money some place to serve its customers with quality proficiently.
I personally don't care a Ram is a Ram I wouldn't buy any truck new in the first place some fool could buy some drama in to their life if they want to.
I dunno. I think it looks pretty distinctive. That motor is the real deal. And I am not sure you could build it yourself for any less. So I can see how it’s worth that price to some people.
But otherwise I’m with you. It might be worth $70 grand, but not $70 grand of MY money. If I had to buy a Ram truck to go off road, I’d get a power wagon and pocket the $10,000 difference.
People like cool and shiny things when they're all new, but in 10 years, they'll be long gone and people will just keep buying new ones because they are just such expensive vehicles that don't hold up. The ram trx is trash; the ram 1500 is already bad enough; i should get paid to own a ram if anything because they have absolutely no quality put into them. Let's say you date a girl. Let's say there is a dumb really attractive girl that only wants to date you for the money. It is just like the ram trx's; they're attractive girls that end up faking all their beauty because their beauty doesn't exist inside of them only the outside. The ram trx's are bad where you can't see it, but nice and shiny where you can.
