Lexus LS400 1997
I don't have an air compressor yet, and I've had untreated ethanol (5%) in the tank for 6 months or so. I've drained the tank, but was thinking sucking the fuel with a hand pump from the fuel pump connector hose which I assume goes to all the fuel lines and to the engine.
Is that stupid? Thanks.

why don't you just disconnect it at the engine and then run the pump
You mean as per this video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=viyBfJelraM yeah, I expect that's a less messy and dangerous option.
And bearing in mind not to let the fuel pump run dry and burn out.
