2. The miles are way too much
3. At that age, all the electrical components are going haywire

Sometimes I have to wonder where people get their information from.
When and how was the Ford Triton 5.4L 3V V8 a good engine? Many, many mechanics regard it as the worst engine Ford ever made. Even properly maintained they had far above average problems.
I personally would be leery of that one due to the mileage. And, do you really need 4WD? If you do, that might help some but if you don't need it on a yearly basis I would avoid 4wd. Some of the smarter folks on here can probably give you better opinions, but that is my 2 cents.
I would stay away from that vehicle because it has the terrible 3 valve 5.4L Triton V8. See below for why this engine is bad:

They are good engines. People have problems who don't do maintenance and/or are cheap. Of course there are always exceptions, but for the most part they hold up well. The ford filters are made by purolator and are a very good filter with a functioning anti-drain back valve, which holds oil in the filter so that the top of the engine gets oil quicker on every start. It seems these engines in particular need that oil quickly. Ford (motorcraft) oil is also proven as one of the best for the money. There are other quality oils and filters out there, but there are bad ones too (like the orange Fram). Everyone has their own opinion but the reality is some oils and filters are simply better. When you consider how cheap the motorcraft oil and filters are, or the ford 'works' oil change, do your maintenance and why not use the ford parts?
I think I'll trust the mechanic guy.
