Hey Scotty I like watching your channel. What do you think of the Ford Windstream vans as work vans? My dads friend had one that he used to carry his kids around and my dad himself also had one that he had a mechanic repair and was now ready to be sold. Are they good vans? Many thanks from Alberta Canada
@turbodieselpony
Yes! I have the predecessor to the Windstar (before that it was the Aerostar), it's a 2004 Ford Freestar SES 3.9 V6, and I've been quite happy with it. It's got 235,xxx miles on it and still rollin'. I bought it 4 years ago at 188k miles. Just make sure the torque converter has been replaced, and if it ever starts misfiring, change your coil pack. And always change the transmission fluid on time. And don't pay more than $2000USD for it. They're zippy little minivans honestly. I've done donuts and drifted in mine (on snow, tires are expensive haha). They hold up pretty well over time. Although they do tend to have strange electrical issues as they age. There's a group on FB called Ford Freestar-Windstar Owners Club where we mod them and stuff. It has a pic of an orange Freestar as the cover photo.
Have a mechanic check it out before you buy. Also welcome to the ford minivan life.
Excellent van the only thing I would definitely check is for rust as they were made slightly Yes for leisure and more for work as long as there is no severe frost on any of the sales are bodywork I would deafly recommend buying one as long as it has under are close to 100,000 miles
You mean Windstar? Kind of old now.
@mountainmanjoe
Shhh. Those vans are boss!
Did you know it was designed by women?
From wikipedia:
"the Windstar was designed predominantly by a women-led engineering and design team. Intended nearly exclusively for family use, the design team considered design scenarios from the perspective of pregnant women, women wearing skirts and high heels, and adopted family-friendly design features (reconfigurable cupholders, auxiliary stereo controls)."
Get Sienna
@nick20s
I have a Freestar (Windstar predecessor) and a Sienna, my Freestar can smoke the Sienna if I gun it
