[Solved] Catalytic converter delete

So I recently bought a 2003 Mazda Miata and fixed it up to be a pretty bulletproof car, the one thing that allowed me to pick the car up for cheap is that it was missing a catalytic converter. Although it sounds cool I need to get it smog checked. I ran some codes and after resetting them a few time I found that the only code that is showing up isn’t a catalytic converter code, it’s a downstream o2  sensor code, do you know a way around this without me spending a fortune on a new catalytic converter.

sincerely, Londen

Instead of doing a cat delete why dont u just upgrade your cat to a high flow and this problem may go away

@klob
thank you so much that's really helpful, Ill look into them

Even without codes it will most likely fail smog on the visual. Downstream O2 sensor exists to measure cat efficiency, you will get a code for that when it completes the drive cycle

@jimbob
thats good to know thanks for the help
