Some people just don't know the value of their vehicle. In California it would go for around 15,000 but I guess not there. Plus, you'd have a mechanic check it out and meet the owner in a safe spot etc.
You would also want to request the Vin number
Dude, I heard I can get shot for buying a car off of craigslist.
Your chances of being shot are less likely if you are in a public space with lots of people.
Plus wouldn't you go with your parents? Go to a place with lots of people like a parking lot or something. Keep all your valuables inside your car, not on you etc. Chris Fix has a video on buying a used car and this is the first thing he talks about.
But honestly you could just give him a text if you really want to look into it. If he sees that you are prepared and you ask for vin number and say youll come with parents meet in a walmart lot etc. then if he is a scammer he most likely won't find you the ideal person to shoot at.
Or you could be safe and look for dealer listings @ cargurus.com
I also searched up Teaneck, New Jersey. I guess it helps that it is a really rich place. I want to buy the truck and maybe make some money trying to resell it.
Good luck!
Thanks, man.
If I get the truck, I'm posting a picture for you all to check it out. I'm sooooooooo excited about it.
It was a scam. They didn't answer the phone- they just said to leave a message.
yah, you better keep on looking. Good thing you realized it was a scam. Also watch the language some of our moderators will be quick to punish you severely.
oh. sorry about that. I didn't mean to curse. Forgive me. I'm not doing it again.
Dang! yeah looking at the pics to see if it looks "in season" outside is a tall tale sign man.

So if I'm trying to sell something, but I can't answer the phone the exact moment you call, then it's a scam??
@mountainmanjoe; I called him multiple times throughout three days and he had some weird ringtone when I called him. I am sorry about cursing by the way. I will Never curse on this chat again.
why not?
It's too good to believe, right? It isn't rusted, it is a double cab v6 4wd trd off road super clean tacoma, dude. This thing would go for like $8,000 usually. I think I hit a gold mine on this one.
it's 18 years old. The price is about right.
awful color though
The color does suck, man. If I were to ceramic coat it and wax it, maybe it would look a lil' better.
it would be a shinier pomegranate red
"it's 18 years old. The price is about right"
Price: 3200 USD

@kerem

First you need money;( 8000 dollars a month for apartment rent {black}:displeased:
it might be legit, the phone number checks out okay

I'm a bit skeptical even though its really awesome deal but I would be very careful when looking at it. Meet the owner at a very public area in the daylight hours and make sure you have something to also defend yourself as well. I have heard of people being duped into going to their "place" and being robbed or beaten so be careful. But hopefully it works out. Also notice that the trees are green and so is the grass and its posted only 10 days ago so to me something seems out of place.
I can get killed for coming to his place? Oh my god. I think I might pass on the truck. You scared me, bro.
Didn't mean too man LOL. I'm just sometimes paranoid like that because I've heard some crazy stories and i've learned to be ready for anything because I was in the marines and deployed and had some stuff go on and now I just don't trust anyone because of those experiences man. But do your research man maybe they were trying to sell a while back and just couldn't so they had the pics saved.
Yeah man I know EXACTLY what your talking about being paranoid. I tried searching up the income of the place the seller lives and I found out it was an incredibly rich town. Dude, search up Teaneck, New Jersey. It's a really nice place- that kind of calms down my paranoia about the craigslist serial killer stuff.
Well I hope it goes well for an awesome truck like that.
I'm posting a picture on this site if I actually get it. I'm super excited.
Nice well let us know how it went.
"that kind of calms down my paranoia about craigslist serial killer stuff"
"I'm super exited"
"let us know how it went"
In the end: Scammer
Keep looking . . . Should have known when the price was 20% of California prices.
IK. I'm officially done wasting my time looking at used cars. There is no end when it comes to buying a used car.
One way to find out: respond to it and go from there. You may find out it is a great deal, or you may find out it is a waste of time. But unless you try, who knows?
Call the person. Ask the person.
Are you legit?
i had a fella insist on a facetime call before he would meet with me
i dew sound sketchy
The ad said timing belt and water pump were replaced at 152,000 miles. Below that in the specs it says the odometer is 150,000 miles. Anyone can make typos, but that info raises a bit of a flag. I would ask about inconsistent mileages specifically if you want to pursue it further. Best of luck
I called the guy and he didn't answer; he was a fake.
I wouldn't worry about 2,000 miles. So did you leave a message to call you back?
my dad did; he didn't answer us back. It's fine, man. I should've known craigslist was all scams.
maybe it's just sold. I don't understand why someone would go to the trouble to make a fake ad. What would be the point?
