Hi Scotty. Thoughts on 2005 jag XK convertible with 4.2 l engine 78k miles. 1st owner had it for many years and maintenance done aircraft mechanic. 2nd owner had it for 2 years but barely used it.
vs 2004 xj convertible with 120k miles but 2nd owner maintained for 19 years.
thank you.
I would not buy any Jaguar at all- even if you were going to use it as a weekend toy. Jaguars are the worse vehicles to own and super expensive to maintain. Please do not touch those vehicles at all.
If you are wealthy enough to not be concerned about spending many thousands of dollars on constant repairs (you might be, we don't know peoples' circumstances here) it could certainly be a fun toy. There are much better choices if you're looking for something reliable for regular use that won't break the bank.
Thank you for your replies. I very much appreciate the feedback. Any suggestions for used convertibles under 10k that won’t break the bank in maintenance costs?
Under $10K is a tough target to hit with the market the way it is now. I'd say a Mazda Miata (if a 2-seater is OK) or Toyota Solara would convertibles to consider.
Not a good buy. Jaguars are not known for their quality.
