Hi there,I’m looking to get a beach vehicle to play around,is a 1999 jeep Cherokee a reliable one?
The Jeep Cherokees of that vintage are quite reliable, they are not at all like the new junk being peddled by Fiat. Most of those old Cherokees are equipped with the 4.0 inline six and Aisin AW4 automatic transmission, both of which are very long-lived if maintained. It's not unusual to see them go 300,000 miles or more. 1999 is generally regarded as the best model year. However you are talking about a vehicle that is 22 years old so there will be age-related problems to deal with. Have a mechanic check it out.
No. Toyota rav 4. Even with high miles. Some of the 4 acyl. Burns oil but around town no worries
See below: Yes, those were reliable. Be sure to have an independent, honest mechanic like Scotty thoroughly check them out first and give the OK before you buy. Also, check the service history on those, hopefully they were not bashed and well maintained.
