Get older ones if you want a better reliability.

In a nutshell HELL NO. The new ones are very luxurious and people like to call them the American Range Rovers which I agree with 100% because they are capable off-road, luxurious and beautiful on the inside which is perfect when you are on the side of the road getting a nice massage from the nice massaging seats waiting for the tow truck.

The newest one, it’s too soon to tell.  But let’s be real: no, it is not likely to be reliable considering the company that makes it.

The previous gen was a mixed bag.  My wife has a 2013 that now has 160,000 miles. The engine developed a leak in the rear main seal, but otherwise has been fine.  Transmission has been rock solid.  The big issue has been lots, and lots of electrical gremlins.  And the air suspension needed replacing, as expected.

Fortunately we have a lifetime warranty so all the repairs are just a $100 deductible. Without that, it would have been an “endless money pit.”  Sure rides nice, though.

How did you manage to get a lifetime warranty?

They still did them in2013. But they lost too much money so they stopped it

my old boss still owns it but he keeps taking it to dealer to get it service every week starting at 50k miles... first time is transmission and next week... interior falling apart... week after that is electrical system failing and my old boss is pissed (still to this day)

I remember at some point Scotty talking in one of his videos about Jeep having to recall some of their manual transmission cars because of issues with the transmission. Even if they have fixed that problem I think if a manufacturer can't make manual transmissions right then that definitely says something about their quality.

If you decide you want the Jeep then my advice would be stay away from the Diesel engine. Those Fiat Motori Ecodiesels are notoriously unreliable.
