As the title states, I have a 2015 Renegade with an estimate of 105k miles . Automatic transmission, the car randomly shut off. It starts up when it wants too unless given a jump , it starts up right away. Battery is fine, starter seems fine. Unsure is it’s alternator. Main issue is the gear shifter will not engage. The button to press and shift it to Drive or Reverse is stiff and I get these codes P1500, U0001, and P1634. Sort of point towards the TCM but unsure .

I would start by having the battery, starter and alternator tested, all three.. Make sure they're all functioning properly. Hopefully your transmission isn't shot. That year model had lousy transmissions. There's been many electrical issues with that model.
Welcome new member. Sorry to hear about this. Unfortunately this sounds like it’s beyond a DIY diagnose and repair. Might need to have the TCM reprogrammed. (And you’ll probably be fortunate if that’s all it is.).
