[Solved] Jeep screen won’t turn on

My grandma has a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel. The radio screen came up with a message saying it needed to be updated then from what I heard it just died. The screen will not turn on. Now the vehicle blast hot air and you can’t stop it because the screen is dark. Is there a fix for this? My grandma took it to the dealership and they said a new screen but that’s a $2000 fix. Is there anything I can do to pinpoint and maybe fix the problem.

That's a complex electronic system, and why so many of us prefer actual switches rather than touchscreens. Probably your best bet will be to take it to an independent shop. If it's just the screen they might be able to install a good used one.

I was able to get it looked at. The dealership said it needs to be replaced. My grandmother thankfully has a friend who works for the Jeep dealer in Ardmore Ok and he was able to replace it for $400 less than the dealership. She now has full functionality of the screen.
