I have an audi a4b7 2006 150000

I recently posted about this issue i was recommended to check my transmission. Can a transmission fail without a CEL? Wouldn't i get a warning if the fluid is low and required change? BTW the service record of the car previous owner shows it was done less than 2yrs ago?

I just don't get it 😕.  Once again my car jerks when accelerating quickly off after a stop if I do it grandma style lol I get no problems. Drive this car every day average 40 miles a day, bought the car about a year ago . I was researching the issue and can it be a fuel filter, fuel pump, wiring, bad spark plugs/ coils .

I know its not normal but can it really be that bad 🤔.? NO CEL so maybe I shouldn't take it as seriously? I mean its an old car

Please advise!

The CEL illuminating usually has nothing to do with monitoring the transmission. They're meant to tell the driver there is a problem with the vehicle that is causing it to run outside of emissions regulations. If you have a bad fuel filter or fuel pump, that won't directly trigger the light, the car can't see the fuel pressure directly. It can tell if the engine is getting incorrect fuel from the 02 sensor outputs, or there is a misfire. Both can be caused by dirty fuel filters, bad fuel pumps, bad coils, plugs...

Mashing the gas after slowing down in a 15 year old Audi with 150k miles is asking for trouble, especially if it's turbocharged. Cars usually have a separate light for transmission problems if the manufacturer saw more than one need for it. In my 22 year old Ford Ranger, the O/D Off light functions as a transmission error light, in addition to telling you that you've switched the overdrive off. That switch is to save wear on the transmission if you are towing a load, which you wouldn't do in an Audi. Have a transmission shop look at the data. The car can read out shift timing and such. A knowledgeable transmission guy can tell if the transmission is bad from looking at those numbers.

Thanks Justin you have given me great advise!
