I have a 2008 Gran Prix with the 3800 xx motor , problem is that under light acceleration the motor stutters ,you feel it jerk back and forth and you can watch the tach bounce ' I have had a few look at and nobody knows what it is . I have looked up on the net and found several vids and they all have different solutions , none worked . I have about 190000 on it now but this has been doing it for at least 150000 miles. otherwise it runs great
I would try cleaning that MAF sensor. My Mini was stuttering and doing weird stuff. I biught the cleaner sprayed it. Worked like a charm

I think that first, you need to figure out if this is an engine problem or a transmission problem and then go from there.
What do codes and live data say?
The coil packs on the 3800 are bolted to a metal plate that acts as a ground. Sometimes that plate or the ground get corroded and you can have weird jerky problems like that. With that mileage, it could also be dirty or leaky fuel injectors. Good Luck.
