Hi,
I have a 2.0 2022 Civic Sport sedan paid off. Recently a dealer has reached out to me on a 2023 Honda Accord sport hybrid. I have the funds to do so, just curious if it makes sense mechanically. I know the accord Hybrid is a 2.0 and it’s better than the 1.5t but wonder if I should keep my car or go up in size. I know hybrids are complex, just curious what people think.
Respectfully,
Kyle
The Civic is practically new. I personally like the size of the Civic. It’s basically the size of older Accords. The new Accords are huge. Mechanically I’d say it is about even. You got the turbo on one hand and a hybrid on the other.
Keep what you got. I am unimpressed with the new Honda Accords and can’t recommend.
.
The new generation Honda Accord starting with model year 2023 offers two powertrain options:
.
1.) 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder mated to a CVT transmission; the former 2.0L turbocharged engine is gone along with their torque converter automatic transmissions
.
2.) 2.0L 4-cylinder hybrid system with CVT
.
The reviews I have read indicate this is all about the MPG and emissions, basically a compliance car. The soul of previous generation Accords is just not there.
.
It’s one thing moving over to turbocharged engines, but these two powertrain options above with CVT - come on, now! I won’t be recommending the new Accord.
Keep
